CardExchange® Producer Go edition comes with an internal database, when using this edition no aditional configuration i required.
Starting from the Premium edition you can connect to other data sources such as Excel or Access, then from the professional edition you can also connect to server based databases such as MySQl or SQL Server.
These connections are configured for each card template, and so are set within the card designer itself.
Starting from the Business edition, it is also possible for multiple installations to share the same configuration. Therefore all clients need to point to the same configuration folder location.
